StudyProof is a mobile application developed and operated by an individual developer (sole proprietor). When this policy refers to "StudyProof", "we", "us", or "our", it means the individual operator of the app.

We use the data we collect for the following purposes:
We do not sell your personal data to any third party. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.
All data is stored using Supabase, which provides a PostgreSQL database and object storage. Supabase infrastructure is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS). By using StudyProof, your data is stored on servers that may be located outside your country of residence.
Video files and thumbnails are stored in Supabase's object storage service. Text data (profile information, messages, posts, reactions) is stored in a PostgreSQL database. Access to your data is protected by Row Level Security (RLS) policies, which means the database enforces that each user can only access the data they are permitted to see.
We do not operate our own servers. We rely on Supabase and AWS, which maintain their own security certifications and compliance programmes.
We retain your personal data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, all data associated with your account is permanently deleted — including your profile, posts, videos, messages, follow relationships, reactions, and group memberships. This deletion is irreversible.
Some data may persist for a short period in database backups before being purged during the next backup cycle. We do not maintain backups indefinitely.
You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app:

If you are unable to access the app but wish to delete your data, email us at privacy@studyproof.app and we will process your request within 30 days.
When you first use the app, you may be asked to grant permission to send push notifications. If you grant permission, your device's push notification token is stored and used solely to deliver notifications about in-app activity that involves your account (such as new reactions, follows, messages, and group invites).
Your push notification token is never shared with advertising networks or third-party marketing services.

You own the content you create and upload to StudyProof — including your videos, captions, and profile information. By uploading content, you grant StudyProof a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display, process, and transmit that content solely for the purpose of operating the app and providing the service to you and other users.
This licence exists only while your account is active. When you delete your account or delete a specific post, the associated content is removed and the licence for that content ends.
You are responsible for ensuring that any content you upload does not violate the rights of others or applicable law.

We do not use any advertising SDKs, social media tracking pixels, or third-party analytics tools.
StudyProof is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 13, please do not create an account or use this app.
If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will delete that information promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us at privacy@studyproof.app.
If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

The legal basis for processing your data is the performance of a contract (providing you with the app and its features) and, where relevant, your consent (push notifications).
We take reasonable steps to protect your data. Access controls (Row Level Security) are enforced at the database level. Authentication is handled by Supabase, which uses industry-standard secure password hashing. All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS.
No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately at privacy@studyproof.app.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by email. Continued use of StudyProof after a policy update constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
