StudyProof is a mobile application that allows users to record timelapse study sessions, share them with followers and groups, and hold each other accountable. It is developed and operated by an individual developer (sole proprietor).
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the StudyProof app and any related services. By using StudyProof, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account and use StudyProof. By using the app, you confirm that you meet this age requirement.
If you are between 13 and 18 years old, you confirm that you have your parent or legal guardian's permission to use the app and that they have read and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
If we discover that a user is under 13, we will immediately terminate that account and delete the associated data.
To use StudyProof you need to create an account with a valid email address and password. You are responsible for:
You may only create one account per person. Creating multiple accounts to evade bans or moderation actions is prohibited.
You must provide accurate information when setting up your account. Using a fake identity or impersonating another person is not allowed.
StudyProof is a platform for studying, accountability, and academic community. You agree to use it in a way that is lawful, respectful, and consistent with its purpose.
You must not:
StudyProof is not responsible for content posted by users, but we take violations seriously and will act on reports.
You retain ownership of all content you create and upload to StudyProof — including your videos, captions, profile information, and messages.
By uploading content to StudyProof, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display, process, and transmit that content solely for the purpose of operating the app and providing its features to you and other users. This licence does not give us the right to sell your content or use it for advertising.
This licence ends when you delete the content or delete your account.
You are solely responsible for the content you post. By uploading content you confirm that:
StudyProof provides in-app tools for users to report content or other users that they believe violate these Terms. We review reports and take action where necessary.
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to:
We are not obligated to provide advance notice before taking moderation action, though we will try to do so where reasonable. If you believe your account or content was actioned in error, contact us at legal@studyproof.app.
You can delete your account at any time from within the app:
Deleting your account is permanent and irreversible. All your data — including your profile, posts, videos, messages, and followers — will be permanently deleted. This cannot be undone.
If you are unable to access the app to delete your account, email us at legal@studyproof.app.
The StudyProof name, logo, app design, and all associated software are owned by the developer and protected by intellectual property law. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on any part of StudyProof without our express written permission.
Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you beyond the limited licence to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes.
We aim to keep StudyProof available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The app may be unavailable due to maintenance, technical issues, or circumstances outside our control.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the app or any feature at any time, with or without notice. We are not liable to you for any such modification, suspension, or discontinuation.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be error-free, virus-free, or free of interruptions.
We do not guarantee that study sessions recorded on the app will be saved successfully, or that uploaded content will be retained indefinitely. You are responsible for keeping your own backups of any content you consider important.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, StudyProof and its developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of — or inability to use — the app, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
This includes, without limitation: loss of data, loss of content, loss of revenue or profits, or any harm resulting from interactions with other users.
Our total aggregate liability to you for any claims arising from use of the app shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim. Because StudyProof is currently free to use, this amount is zero.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so the above may not apply to you in full.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless StudyProof and its developer from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the app, your content, or your violation of these Terms.
StudyProof relies on third-party services (including Supabase and AWS) to operate. Your use of these underlying services is subject to their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for the practices or performance of third-party providers.
StudyProof may contain links to external websites or services. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If the changes are material, we will notify you through the app or by email before they take effect.
Continued use of StudyProof after updated Terms have been posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree with the updated Terms, you should stop using the app and delete your account.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer is based. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the app shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in that jurisdiction.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force.
